VR Shopping

Last night I came over this advertisement on TV where Pothys’s new Idea was to sell clothes through a video call in What’s App so human contact would reduce. Then I thought how can this be made much simpler and I had no idea until I watched this cool movie “Ready Player One” in that movie a dialogue which goes on like “VR gaming is the future” then I thought that if VR gaming is the future then why can’t people start VR shopping. Which is much safer and a huge time saver.

More than 4 months in quarantine has made many companies sell their product’s online and companies tend to grow more along with the technology. And so if I could file up a patent or learn more about this project it could be a breakthrough so looked up online to check if there are any paper’s published to my surprise I found out that “The OTB Groups” has already started to implement this technology. And is about to launch a digital showroom that intimates it’s physical store. Look how much we are lagging the world moves faster than we think.

The Goals of this Project is:

Retail clothing shops should look up at VR tech’s to enhance their shopping experience to

  • Attract more customers.
  • Refresh and modernize their brand.
  • Enhance, innovate the actual retail customer experience.
  • No more “wait in line” billing(completely digital)

OTB group also claim that the customer will also have a virtual assistant throughout the process. The VR assistant extremely humanizes the customer experience. I viewed some of the images from the project there graphics were out of the world. The VR assistants will be the brand ambassador, they will help the customer with their need and they have quite a good sense of humour.

When a customer finishes his shopping the data are recorded and is used to understand user’s preferences and shopping behaviour. By this way human and VR assistant interaction improves.

“Smart Mirrors” are taking over “some” physical showrooms:

These mirrors will scan your whole body and give some recommendation and sizes. So now we don’t need a guy who carries the measuring tape around his waist. “Tokyo” has already started using this tech but that mirror won’t scan your whole body rather scans only you’re facing and recommends some products say coolers. In the stores of the future, similar 3d scanning technology will be incorporated into every retail clothing shops to identify your size and stuff.

The Noman Store:

In future, the customers/consumers will have to experience an entirely different way of shopping where you won’t be encountering a single sales associate. Some say it all started with self-checkouts at supermarket's (though it might be getting some terrible reviews it will grow better) and in future technology can assist a customer through a whole new shopping experience.
