                   It’s a game which every teenager has at least played once in their lifetime, yes, it is a clash of clans. Today in this article we will talk about why is COC the best game of the decade, why did the game become so popular among teenagers and is COC dead now so buckle up and enjoy the ride.

Why is it the best game:

                   You may ask me, there are many games out there like PUBG, Free Fire, MK and so on which are still been played by people all around the world and people who even invest in the game to buy some kind of stuff from the game and has around 50million active players till date how can you compare clash of clans with these modern games. Well, bois I have to admit the fact that your modern games have a lot of active player and investors but even after 10 years from its initial release date, COC has over 13million active players around the world(till date). And this game was launched before the time we had unlimited internet facility. During the time of 2014, the company earned a total sum of 1.4 billion dollars.

                   This game was played by profession gamers like Panda, Jorge Yao and so on. These guys literally spent $7000 every month on the game. Supercell earned over $5million every day from that game. No game(mobile games) ever in history was said to earn that much during that time. But times change right then we had MGR and then we had Rajni and now SK and so on. Only changes can’t be changed, everything in the world changes.      

                   Since this game was very strategic this game was really addictive and was about to be banned in India. During 2015 everyone who owned a mobile had this game either pre-installed or downloaded.

Why did the game become so popular?

                   The only reason for the game’s success is “Curiosity”. Think of a situation, your dad says he’ll gift you something big for your birthday and your birthday is a month away, won’t you be curious to know what. COC game that mood for the users, everyone was curious to see how will the next level troops look, building more defences just to make your village look cool.

                   Global Chat, not much to say of it, in simple words it is just a dating site. It contains every quality to be a dating site everyone flirt with each other share their mobile numbers and yet more happened. And due to some security reasons, the global chat was removed and developers of supercell say that will never be added again.

                    The game gave 2 major updates and 5 minor updates every year the 2 major updates were released during summer and winter of each year these updates were made to release new troops and defences or even town hall levels. And the minor upgrades contain new troop level, new hero level and so on. There was a huge gap between updates. Supercell had this cool marketing strategy the news for the updates were released 2months before the actual upgrade which made more curious and some got frustrated and even uninstalled the game.

                    Some teenagers were ready to buy top 100players accounts for hundreds of dollars. And hackers were paid a ton of money just to give the customer a ton of gems and elixir. A lot of scams happened in the name of COC. And due to traffic and illegal access to data Supercell was forced to improve their security system.

Is COC dead now?

                    As said before, COC has around 13million active players around the world. A game with this much players till date can’t be said as a dead game. And even today people are ready to invest Gold Passes and Gems. Many companies created replica’s of COC naming them as total conquest, kingdom clash and so on no one is gonna make a replica of a product if there is no demand for a product in the market. But the truth is that the game isn’t as competitive as before. The main reason was Supercell stopped caring about COC for like 2years(2017-2019) and then by mid-2019 they released a major update and regained quite a number of players. And now the game has a good number of players. Though the count can’t be compared with that of PUBG or COD. The count is good for a game that was released a decade ago. There are a lot of YouTubers out there with millions of subs who just stream COC gameplay’s an attack strategy in their channel, for instance, take Klaus who has 495k sub count for his COC gaming channel, The game didn’t only make us play or even waste our precious time but helped people make a living out of it. And the conclusion is that the game is not dead.
