June 25, 2009, marked the loss of the king of the show business and the world lost one of the most famous figures in history, the king of pop, Michael Jackson.

His young children Prince, Paris and Blanket finally saw their father on the stage. At the time, Michael was making a comeback series called "This Is It", which would become a sensation in the show business.

The death of Michael Jackson shocked everyone, but what really happened that day? If you check Wikipedia now, you will find that the official cause of his death is cardiac arrest caused by acute poisoning of propofol and benzodiazepines. Was he a drug addict?

Well, well, everything is not as simple as it seems at first glance, In this article, I will explain what happened to Michael Jackson. When you see Michael Jackson’s luxurious lifestyle, it’s hard to believe that the greatest artist of all time spent most of his life in pain. Here’s why when Michael Jackson was shooting a Pepsi commercial in 1984, fireworks lit his hair on file. That night, Michael not only suffered second and third-degree burns to his scalp and body, he also learned about the world of painkillers.

In 1999, during a performance, Michael Jackson fell from a height of 15 meters due to an aerial platform failure. His spine was permanently damaged in the accident. After the performance, MJ passed out and was taken to the hospital, where he was admitted and examined.

Since then, back pain and painkillers have become an indispensable part of MJ’s life. Later, stress and pain became serious health problems for Michael Jackson. Perhaps the most disturbing thing is insomnia. He sometimes didn’t sleep for three, four, or even five consecutive days, and the only things that can make him fall asleep are painkillers and tranquillizers.

By the late 1990s, MJ had relied heavily on propofol, which was essentially a powerful sedative. Michael Jackson was used to sleeping under propofol, and he even called it his milk, because the colour of this substance is reminiscent of milk.

In early 2009, Michael signed a lucrative contract with media giant AEG to organize a series of concerts in London. The "This Is It tour” will mark the return of the greatest artist.

The first performance was scheduled for July 2009, and the rehearsal is scheduled to begin at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in late April. Lack of preparation time gave Michael an exhaustive & rigorous routine.

MJ hasn't performed a large-scale live performance for more than ten years and suddenly had to dance, sing, keep up with the band's rhythm, and spend a few hours with the production team to develop strategies... five or six days a day. Michael needs a good sleep to stay alert and productive, and he needs more sleep to get rid of back pain. His plan is to get through this difficult time with the help of his good pal's propofol. And benzodiazepines.

But giving serious sedative-like propofol is not as easy as taking medicine. So Michael always has a special partner by his side-a a medical doctor to assist him with this sensitive matter. At AEG, Michael asked to hire a personal doctor to assist him during the tour. AEG agreed and hired Konrad Murray, a doctor who knew Michael long before his rehearsals, and there is no doubt that he knew Michael Jackson's important requirements. Here is what happens almost every night after rehearsal: Michael returns from Staples Center to North Carrollwood, which is his home in Los Angeles. Murray administered MJ and injected him with drugs such as propofol. Every night, Doctor Murray was putting Michael into anaesthesia in the comfort of his home without proper medical equipment, which is vital for his job.

The night Michael died

This is just another night, nothing special. Dr Murray injected MJ with a small dose of propofol and made him fall asleep.

Simply put, during propofol anaesthesia, the anesthesiologist will first give the patient a small dose of sedation, and then the doctor must be able to maintain the concentration of the sedative in the patient's blood otherwise the sleep won’t last long.

Soon after the first dose, Dr Murray gave Michael Jackson an intravenous injection, in which small doses were continuously injected into the patient through an intravenous device to maintain a stable concentration of sedative in the blood. The reason doctors need the right equipment when taking medicines such as propofol is that the body's response to strong sedatives may be unpredictable and very difficult to predict. There seems to be mild sedation and deep sedation. The brain mainly controls the breathing process in mild sedation. However, in deep sedation, the brain can no longer control breathing, and the patient must be placed on a ventilator to continue breathing. Propofol is a drug that is known to easily cause deep sedation.

That night, Michael's body reacted in an unusual way, falling into a state of deep sedation without a trace, because there was no device that could measure his heart rate and pulse to help the doctor. Murray left the medication room for a few minutes just when Michael Jackson almost stopped breathing. From a medical point of view, he had a respiratory arrest.

But at this time, he can still be saved. He needs oxygen, but doctor Murray is not ready to deal with this situation. Murray noticed something wrong but thought it was a cardiac arrest, not a respiratory arrest. In other words, he thought Michael had a heart problem, so he started a resuscitation, which was completely counterproductive compared to what he was supposed to do. He did not call 911 immediately, nor did he provide qualified help in time to save Jackson's life.

Later, Dr Murray recounted what happened that night, claiming that he only gave Michael the starting dose to help him fall asleep, then Michael suggested giving him the intravenous injection and Murray did so. The court did not believe this story. In our personal view, Michael Jackson’s condition is known to his close business partner circle, but no one really wants to help him get rid of drugs. After all, if someone took care of him, he could have been sent to a rehabilitation centre, just like Elton John. But in the end, it looks like Michael Jackson who's performing live despite operating on drugs, was more profitable, than Michael Jackson, who was at rehab fixing his addiction. This is the story of Michael Jackson's death.
