When we look up the stars, we can’t identify but we can imagine that some bizarre life forms might exist in the depths of space. There could be any kind of creature like the one which bleeds blue, the one with brains in the legs, etc. But what if those creatures are already here? Lurking in the depth of the oceans, and sometimes even in our dining tables.
This is an octopus one of the weirdest life form’s mankind has ever seen. They have the intelligence to find pathways in a maze and even build there own shelter. Their body has only one bone which makes em’ a great escape artist, they can squeeze themselves out of a hole which is as small as a keyhole.
Octopuses have been with us for nearly 300million years, yet some scientist still believes that they came from outer space. What strange feature makes them believe octopuses are from outer space? What proof do we have to say that they originate on earth? And how do we know that these scientists aren’t onto something?
We people have this mentality if something is complex or bizarre we consider that it must’ve come from outer space. So what are the bizarre characteristics that make us believe that these creatures are from outer space?
The Colour of its Blood:
The colour of its blood is “Blue” and the science behind the colour is that Their blood is copper-based, rather than iron-based like ours. Copper is more efficient in transporting oxygen to their bodies in cold and low-oxygen environments.
Nervous System:
Their nervous system is completely different from ours, Two-thirds of their neurons settles in their appendages as opposed to their brains i.e: Their arm has a brain of their own. They can complete tasks independent from the rest of the body.
A couple of their arms will be trying to cut open a fish while the rest of the body searches for food. Even if you cut off an arm it would still react to physical stimulation. Many people have died while dining octopuses, they tend to fight back.
The intelligence:
The octopuses have a fascinatingly high IQ. In 2016 an octopus from an aquarium in New Zealand escaped and made it’s way back to the ocean through a drain tunnel. In Germany workers kept finding the octopuses room covered by darkness every morning, eventually, the octopus has found a way to shoot a stream of water to flick off the switch.
In 2018 a group of scientists found the octopuses character to be so bizarre and they theorised that they must’ve been alien origin. Their study claims that the genes of octopuses have never been found in any pre-existing life form on earth.
However, it didn’t take that long for this theory to be disapproved. Marine Biologists agreed that a simple look at an octopuses DNA is enough to confirm that they aren’t from outer space they are earth origins. Octopuses share a lot of genes with other animals like a snail, Flies and even human indicating that they share common ancestors and thus this proves that they are also from the same planet just like us.
If fact biologist suggests that we could even learn a bit more about us from them. They could teach us about how our mind handles information and how our mental capacity has evolved. So while octopuses may look and act like an alien form but it turns out that they are just the same as us "EARTHIANS".
